Subscription button is great way how you can let every potential fan and friend know about publishing your new videos on YouTube. You don’t have to send them message with the link anymore, they will get it automatically if they subscribe.
It is very easy to subscribe to your YouTube channel – your audience just need to click on the subscription button (link) which is directly implemented into the YouTube video.
Another great benefit of subscription button is building a list of fans. This is especially important in case you plan to monetize your videos (earn money on YouTube). You need to spread it to the masses and gain very high popularity. When more people see your videos (and ads included in it) then it potentially makes more money.
Here I show very simple tutorial how to implement subscribe button right into the YouTube video to any position you need with any selectable text of the subscription link.
Let’s get started!
Log in to your YouTube channel. Upload your video and then click on “Annotations” under the video.
Click on “Add annotation” and choose “Note” (1.).
Add desired text for example “Click here to subscribe” (2.).
Enter the time when you want the subscribe button to appear and disappear (3.).
In the bottom section (4.) check “Link” and “Open link in a new window”. Then choose “Channel” on the right side.
You need to find your YouTube channel ID in advanced settings. Mine is “UCo48DFnUOyGRxpKPb8SZUuA” – yours might be some similar mixture of numbers and letters.
Then fill the subscription link to your YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/channel/[channel-ID]?sub_confirmation=1 (replace “[channel-ID]” with your unique ID).
Drag the text to the position you need (5.). Your YouTube subscribe button is finished now.
We don’t want to bother our audience by subscription button visible the whole time of viewing the video. Instead, we usually add one subscribe button for the beginning and one for the end of the video (approx. 10 seconds each).
That’s it. Easy right?
We hope this fast and easy step by step how to guide helped you. Any suggestions or notes will be appreciated in the comments section below. Thank you!
